500 Blankets to The Homeless Alliance in Oklahoma

500 blankets donated from Oklahoma State Cowboys Blanket for a Blanket and Oklahoma Sooners Blanket for a Blanket purchases benefitted The Homeless Alliance located in Oklahoma City. The nonprofit seeks to motivate the community to help eliminate homelessness through volunteerism. It is estimated that between 5,200-6,500 people find themselves homeless in Oklahoma City each year.

"Because of your donation, everyone at the Day Shelter received a gift bag with a blanket in it," said Kinsey Crocker, Director of Communications about the organization's recent holiday party. "That is especially meaningful for people at the Day Shelter because of the 300 people we serve in an average day, half of them are unsheltered-meaning they don't go to a traditional overnight shelter and instead are sleeping outside in a tent, car or other place that is not meant for human habitation."

With a Purpose uses the Buy a Blanket, Give a Blanket model which gives a nonbranded blanket for every blanket purchased to an person in need like those supported by The Homeless Alliance. Visit withapurpose.us for more Blanket Drop Stories and information about our nonprofit partnerships.
