LSU and Tulane Fan Purchases Allow 125+ Blankets to Be Distributed by UNITY of Greater New Orleans

LSU 1 for 1 blanket and Tulane 1 for 1 blanket sales allowed With a Purpose to donate more than 125 blankets to UNITY of Greater New Orleans. Pictured below are Cameron Siceloff, UNITY’s Community Engagement Specialist, and Leo, a formerly homeless volunteer. UNITY shared the following statement with the With a Purpose community:

UNITY of Greater New Orleans is a collaborative of over 60 agencies working together to prevent, reduce, and end homelessness in Orleans and Jefferson Parishes. UNITY is a proud partner of With A Purpose, which recently donated over 100 blankets to currently homeless folks living on the street and to individuals moving into new homes after a period of homelessness. Having a warm blanket under which to sleep is integral to making a new home for UNITY`s clients.

This donation will enable UNITY to provide a blanket to every chronically homeless person being re-housed in permanent housing in the month of January. “Thanks to With A Purpose, we have been able to provide warm blankets to homeless veterans moving into newly renovated homes over the holiday season,” said Valerie Miller, Building Director for UNITY’s Sacred Heart Apartments. “Ensuring that these veterans now have a permanent home, is a vital part of our campaign to end veteran homelessness in New Orleans,” she added. On behalf of our clients we wish to express gratitude to With A Purpose and their customers who have contributed to warming the hearts of our city`s most vulnerable residents.
