Veterans Receive Dozens of Blankets in Columbia, Missouri

Welcome Home, Inc. in Columbia, Missouri houses up to 12 veterans at a time and directly serves approximately 40-50 each year. They serve more than twice that many via other supportive services such as homeless prevention and rapid rehousing. They are also collaborating to break ground on Patriot Place with other community agencies, a project that will provide 25 permanent housing units for veterans plus emergency shelter to another 60 veterans. Blankets were provided to the organization via Mizzou Blanket for Blanket and United States Air Force Blanket for Blanket purchases.

Said Emergency Shelter Lead Social Worker Mary Ford, "Welcome Home, Inc.  really appreciates the blanket donations we received from With A Purpose.  With the recent cold spell and dangerous wind chills, Veterans come to our door to seek shelter or any assistance we can provide.  The donation you have sent to our agency has allowed us to offer a warm blanket to our Veterans, both in the shelter and still out on the streets.  These blankets are providing our homeless heroes with some additional warmth and protection from the elements. Thank you for your service to our mission!"
