200 Blankets to United Way of Oxford

The United Way of Oxford and Lafayette County received and delivered 200 blankets donated by With a Purpose this winter. For each blanket purchased from the Mississippi "Ole Miss" Rebels Blanket for a Blanket program, a non branded 1-for-1 blanket is donated locally in Mississippi. Below are photos of some of the blankets that went to a local nonprofit organization called Interfaith Compassion Ministry being distributed at Canterbury Crest in Oxford.

Interfaith Compassion Ministry is comprised of local churches working together to provide basic services for the homeless and clients in need of help with rent, utilities and prescription drug programs. Executive Director Lena Wiley is pictured above (in pink proudly displaying a donation blanket) with United Way of Oxford's Executive Director Alice Ricks and her associate Chelsea Hubert who is a part of the AmeriCorps program. Each of these women have committed to public service in order to better the lives of the individuals in their community. Their united efforts coupled with the Blanket for a Blanket program has given men and women in Mississippi some much needed warmth this year.
